Which contradictory one?

2006-07-03 16:45:15 · answer #1 · answered by My Avatar 4 · 0 1

I am christian and have to say that sometimes it can seem as some come across as arrogant or just ignorant. I mean no disrespect I just think since it's the major religion, at least where I live, that some Christians forget that there are other religions and just because they feel one way doesn't make everyone else wrong. I feel like you can believe in which ever God you choose and that doesn't hurt my beliefs. I believe that religion has been too segmented into different types and then clicks form inside those groups and it can be off-putting to others. I wish people could agree to disagree in these cases and not forget that we live in a melting pot. We should want to learn about other cultures and their religions. Knowledge is power.

Christianity has been around for the longest time for a reason. The Bible provides thousands of detailed lessons in the forms of stories that can be applied to life, no matter what the age we’re living in. Christians aren’t arrogant, or think they are better than anyone else, they are just confident in what they believe. The Bible is the only religious book that says “Go ahead, find a flaw,” because there are very few mistakes or inaccuracies. It also says to become educated and to use all your knowledge to prove it wrong, because in the end, you will realize that it is almost completely true.

I hate Christians with all the answers. Life is too complicated for that. Anyone, Christian or not cannot have all the answers, common sense should tell them that. I think it's less arrogance and more insensitivity and cluelessness that there is a real world out there and even people who are not Christians have feelings that should be considered.

What would arrogance have to do with such things? You had better look up the word in a dictionary.

While with that dictionary why not look up the word CHRISTAPHOBIC.

Is it arrogant to know the answer to a question?? I would say that it shows a higher level of intelligence that you might want to put down so you don't feel bad by not having the answers..

Many of them are. For a young religion, they think they were the first and only true religion. The Alpha and the Omega. That takes arrogance to the max.

Ro 1:19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath showed it unto them.
Ro 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Ro 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Ro 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

Some Christians might be arrogant, but they have nothing on some atheists. I'm an atheist myself, and atheists piss me off so much I say I'm a Discordian instead.
