Sounds like she might just be depressed and stressed out from being in the shelter. Puppies sometimes have hiatal hernias (where the stomach meets the esophagus) which can cause vomiting. Or she might have a virus like Corona or Parvo, especially if she has bloody diarrhea as well. That could cost you a bundle to treat - as much as buying a top quality dog from a reliable breeder. She'd have to be hospitalized for a week or two on IV fluids. You might want to call the shelter BEFORE you take her to the vet. If they gave you a sick pup, it should be their responsibility financially - not yours.
If she's an adult, she could have heartworms - a simple blood test can detect it. It's cheap to prevent, but it's VERY expensive to treat. Heartworms can cause severe fatigue, but not vomiting.

I would try to get her in to see a vet sooner than that. She could have parvo (a very contagious virus that causes vomitting) - it isn't contagious to people, but puppies get it very often. It is usuall fatal if not treated immediately. Distemper is another possibility, but it sounds a lot like parvo.
Do not give her cow's milk - dogs cannot digest it well.
CALL THE VET. A puppy can get dehydrated very quickly from vomitting, and your puppy sounds very sick. She might just have an upset stomach, but a puppy that continually vomits needs a vet as soon as possible so you can get it treated before it gets too sick to treat.
You have to take care of your dog just like you would care for a person. The thing is, the dog can't tell you how it feels, and there are some very serious illnesses that animals can get, and pass on to each other. That is why they have to have immunizations. There is even a period of time after the immunizations before they are effective. When I get shots for my dogs (a Pembroke Welsh Corgi and a Standard Poodle) I always ask how long it is before the parvo shot is effective. Then I keep my dogs away from other dogs, and away from where other dogs have been, until that time has passed.
Neither of my dogs has ever been sick, and the poodle is 10 and a half years old.
Remember, when you choose to adopt a dog, you are responsible for its health because that dog's life is in your hands. Call around your area and see if there is a 24-hour emergency vet. Be sure you ask about after hours fees. Some charge a lot extra and some don't. It will not be better in a few days - it is too sick. Try calling the pound and see if they have a vet. Call your local humane society - they might suggest one who is available over a holiday weekend. Just please don't wait until the 6th. It might be too late for the puppy. Hopefully, the vet will tell you it isn't serious and you will have a wonderful Lab for a companion.

The animal shelter should have had her checked out by a vet before releasing her to you.
Take a look at her gums (does not work on a Chow) and see if they are nice and pink. If not, the whiter the gums, the sicker the dog. If the gums are pretty white, get her to the vet now. Call the vet's emergency number.
Frankly, I don't like the sound of, "hardly eats or drinks any thing and pukes alot..." If her gums are fairly pink and this does not clear up, get her to the vet as soon as they are open next. Don't wait until the 6th.
P.S. Pull up the skin on the nape of the neck and release it. If it falls back in place rapidly, she is fine on the water. If it falls slowly, she is dehydrated. The slower it falls, the more dehydrated. If very dehydrated, she needs to be seen now.
Parvo is accompanied by diarrhea.
Personally, if I found the pound gave me an ill animal, I would stick them for the vet bill for this.

It could be that the puppies nerves are a bit in a jitter, but since it is a puppy and it came from the pound, it could of contracted something there.
The most common things in puppies are worms, and the symptoms are the same as you described and the starting of parvo.
worms are very serious and can kill your puppy, and so is parvo.
watch for bloody diarreha this is a major sign of parvo and worms. If you can find an emergency vet get the puppy there.
call your vets office and see if there is a recording with an emergency number so you can get your puppy there.
If this is parvo or worms it can't wait as this hits them fast and can kill within 24 hours. You do not have til the 6th if this is what it is.
If your puppy turns out to have parvo, get ahold of the pound and tell them they are adopting out sick dogs.
I imagine that the pound probably gave the puppy one of it's shots, but it isn't protected from the parvo virus until it gets more than one.
Seriously find a vet now.........

*sigh* to state the obvious, get your dog to the vet. If you were vomiting and not feeling well enough to move around, wouldn't you go to the doctor?
It is really a concern that she is like this, and it could be quite serious, even life-threatening.
And because the dog is vomiting, DON'T force anything into her mouth/stomach. Any food or water is going to cause more vomiting. She needs to be rehydrated by a doctor, because she is not able to keep anything down.
There is nothing over the counter that you can give, especially because you don't know what is causing the problem.
Good luck, and don't wait until the 6th, or you could lose the dog.

That's strange i just took my puppy to the vet for the same thing. The vet gave me some antibiotics for the dog and she needs to go see the vet again in ten days. They said she had an upper respiratory infection. Hope your puppy gets well soon :)

Its hard to tell without being fully checked out. Try to get her into the vet sooner if possible. Until then, make sure she has plenty of fresh water, she gets good food, play with her and give her lots of love. She may just be trying to get use to the new surroundings.

Could be parvo virus or did they give her vaccinations at the pound? Regardless, she needs a vet asap to clear things up.
