In my opinion swimming is a great sport and work out. It strengthens your muscles and you eventually fat turns into muscle.
I started off slow with 20 or 30 laps. Two weeks later i was doing 80 to 100 laps (which isn't a lot to some people) but it was good for me.
I also got a nice dark tan.

join a gym and get a trainer. If you don't want to speed $$ then you can go to some bleachers, run miles, swim, etc. Variety is good but a trainer would push you and help you stay motivated.

the best one is the one you do forever cant just do something for a week or two you got to keep doing in order for any of them to work. sit ups push ups run it work for the army

Turbo kick boxing, taibo w/ billy blanks or however you spell is works the entire body. many gyms offer these classes or you can rent DVDs or buy them at your local electronics store.
