the u . s ., because it grew to become, gained independence from large Britain. It replaced right into a British colony and the 1st settlers got here from England interior the sixteenth century, touchdown especially on the East Coast. Britain tried to make the settlers pay taxes to the British Crown (King George 3) however the settlers had no representation interior the British parliament so as that they refused. and you have the normally quoted case of a shipment of tea being thrown into Boston Harbour in protest. The war of Independence observed and the British, who already had some third of the international below their rule, supported via a huge component to the settlers, misplaced the main nicely-known conflict. This replaced into observed via the yank statement of Independence that's taught in all US colleges immediately.

We gained Independence from England. July 4th is the day we declared our Independence, not the day we won. In fact we barely won our freedom from England, but we did. My ancestor, John Coombs Jr was with Gen. Washington when they crossed the Delaware for a surprise attack at Trenton in Dec. (Battle of Trenton)

Down where I am from we got our independence by whipping up on old Santa Anna. Then we joined the United States. Yes that is right, we asked the United States if we could join up with them and that was not easy. At that time the Republic of Texas was broke and the United States was a bit reluctant to welcome us with all of our financail problems. Old Hickory when asked his opinion on letting the Texicans join the US said that if he owned Texas and hell that he would rent out Texas and live in hell. However, we finally got in and then not a whole bunch of years later, oil was discovered outside of Beaumont and we finally paid back all of the debts. Thank You United States !!!!!!
