I prefer to watch the news and then form my own opinions using a Biblical Worldview. Everyone has an opinion, but we must process what we see and hear from what we know of the Bible.

Without watching the news, where would you get the information to form your own opinions? From those assholes at the water cooler?
News, per se, is not supposed to present opinions. That's just the model that sells these days. People prefer to have their opinions spoon-fed to them rather than going through the effort of filtering information and forming their own.

Are you implying that if I watch the news that I cannot form my own opinions? If you cannot study multiple resources (the news included) you cannot form an informed opinion. To dismiss the news entirely smacks of denial.

I am not sure that they are mutually exclusive. I watch the news to gain information as to the state of current affairs. I generally form my own opinions about the stories I view. They generally go hand-in-hand.

news helps me to understand whats going on... i choose tids and bits of information from here and there... and then analyze what i think is best... media has been blamed for being biased - thats where our own judgement and opinion comes in... so its important to read the news, but more important to have an opinion just not believe in "one" source.

Unless you got some major connections, most people have to resort using the news as the basis for their opinions

Both. But, even if I have an opinion, I will listen to others including the news.

I didn't know I had to choose. I read the news so I can form more informed opinions.

You have to be informed in order to form opinions, and it's tough to have informed opinions when most of the media is slanted in one direction or the other already.
But me, I usually base my opinions on hair color.
