hang on a second,
For those experiencing trials because of ILLNESS—

Rev. 21:4, 5: “‘[God] will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.’ And the One seated on the throne said: ‘Look! I am making all things new.’ Also, he says: ‘Write, because these words are faithful and true.’”

Matt. 9:35: “Jesus set out on a tour of all the cities and villages, teaching . . . and preaching the good news of the kingdom and curing every sort of disease and every sort of infirmity.” (By associating such healing with his preaching about the Kingdom, Jesus provided a marvelous foreview of what he will do for mankind during his Millennial Reign.)

2 Cor. 4:13, 16: “We too exercise faith . . . Therefore we do not give up, but even if the man we are outside [our physical body] is wasting away, certainly the man we are inside is being renewed [or given fresh strength] from day to day.” (We may be wasting away in a physical sense. But spiritually we are being renewed as we continue to feed on God’s precious promises.

My personal favorite is John 16:33 "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
You could also share with her the story of Paul the apostle (2 Corinthians chapter 12:7-10 " And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet met, lest I should be exalted above measure. For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

Hope these help. The life of Paul is an excellent example for all of us when we are suffering. He stayed faithful to the end.

There are a lot of good verses, and it looks like you'll get quite a few here. I saw a a quote the other day that I really liked. I sent it to my sister who is having medical issues as well.

"Sometimes the Lord calms the storm. Sometimes He lets the storm rage and calms His child."

I just love that!!!

(Matthew 11:28-30)

Therefore since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with

in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope
