as long as the male bird is old enough to start mating,,,there's no age differences in bird. you put a nest box in the cage as high as you can get it. provide shedds of paper,,yarn etc,,,also start giving them hard boiled eggs smashed and cooled for extra calcium and protein. but most importantly both birds need to be the same color. i answered this with another question before,,,,,a green bird will not mate with a blue one or yellow one and vice verse..........m

she could start laying eggs much younger than that, it isnt sugested to breed them till they are a year, maybe 9 months not totally sure but most likely no younger
