Well I recommend the wind and go flashlight. They have LED bulbs and don't use batteries. You wind the arm on the back and you have power. There fairly bright and no worries about battery acid leaking out and corroding your flashlight.

Streamlight Stinger 2. No Doubt Industrial tough and very bright. Work in a papermill and the only flashlight (Recharg) to hold up to harsh envirnoment and always be ready to go. Tough Light about $90.

They all say "Battery Powered" but most come with rechargeable batteries, and all you do is plug them into the wall to store them. When the power goes out, you use them.

go to www.emergencyessentials.com. They have the best flash lights. they have the kind you shake, ones that are solar charged, ones that can be plugged into your car or regular outlet, and hand-cranked ones. We bought one from them that was one you shake, and it was very good. We also bought one that had a radio on it, a solar panel, a hand crank, and could be charged in the car. They are both excellent and have been very useful during long power outages.
