That heavenly father, not God, and his goddess wife have come to the earth to re-populate it. Similarly, we are all spirit-children conceived by the union of heavenly father and his goddess wife.

Andrew are you brainwashed?
Do you start every testimony with:
I know this church is true
J.S was a prophet
Gordon B Hinckley is a true prophet
There is a 99 % chance that you do along with 99% of your church buddies. You tell me who is brainwashed.
Do you take everything the church puts out as doctrine without question? Like most do
Did you know the church only changes its stances on subjects when pressured.
Blacks were cursed until the civil right movement was in full swing.
Having more than one wife was fine until the Government was about to wipe out Utah. Then B Young and Grant did it in secret.
Do some research GOD gave you a Brain and would like it if you used it to think for yourself.
My friend God has never been a man and Will not.
The truth my friend will set you free so seek it.

I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah so it goes without saying that I was a Morman as a child (until age 20 when I moved to Indiana). I think the hardest thing for me to believe was that if a man lives the life of a Morman (lives by "the word of wisdon, marries in the Temple , etc,) when he dies he has the opportunity to be the "god of his own celestial kingdom". I think the bible says something about not worshiping other gods. So, if believing that one will become a god of his own kingdom is not worshipping other gods, I don't know what is. I also had hard time with baptisms for the dead.

Why don't you go to an LDS official instead of here? Half of these answers are wrong or only half truths.
BTW his name is Joseph Smith not John Smith like Grease light...said. And they don't practice polygamy any more once it became a law. Those who practice it are no longer a member of the church. There is no brainwashing either. Yes, there is only one God. No one can ever take His place. In time they believe that they can become like God. Do you think that God will have man take His place? I think not. Those answering need to get their facts straight or just keep their fingers off the keyboard!

Yep, i've got heard some. listed below are some, in basic terms for laughs. I as quickly as heard that Mormons have faith that the sunlight gets its mild from a celeb (or planet? i'm undecided) referred to as Kolob, and not from nuclear reactions. I heard they suspect that historic inhabitants of the Americas have been farmers with each and each of a similar animals and flowers as we've right here immediately. there replaced into additionally a narrative some floating white Indian zombie with a treasure map, and yet another some conversing sasquatch who claimed to be Cain from the Bible. Wasn't there additionally something approximately John Smith, Jr. telling young women that a sword-wielding angel could decapitate him if he did no longer "marry" them in a private ceremony that very extremely he replaced into authorized to accomplish himself? That one kills me. Like human beings could extremely persist with the dude if that one have been real. What next, did he rip-off human beings out of their money in a banking scandal? i think human beings will next be inventing memories approximately Mormons thinking dinosaurs lived on different planets. Mormons do have horns however. That one is real.

I heard they can't have chocolate or coffee. I have no idea to the validity of this since I don't pay much attention to religion. However if this is true, I think that's very strange. They're natural products. I would never survive as a Mormon if that's the case.

That native americans are actually of jewish decent that traveled across the land bridge between the contenents, which has just been proved impossible by testing many pure native americans and pure jews DNA and finding little genetic similarity and no familial genetic association. In otherwords, they are not related at all, despite what the Book of Morman says.

That women can't go to heaven without marrying. Women get treated like slaves as well as their children. The children born with defects are killed at birth, but if born with down syndrome they keep them to get more money from the government.

That the pope is God. And he has lesser Gods, called priests, to rule over individuals.
Or, that people who have been saved are free to commit as many sins as they want and still be rewarded with heaven.
Or, that God is really three people in one (Trinity).
Oh, wait, never mind, those are Catholic & Protestant beliefs.
