Biopsies, bloodwork and x-rays. They test the tissue taken from the biopsy to see if it is malignant or benign.

Remember the 7 signs of cancer. They are your lead in. When you go get things checked out, then the doctor can tell you if there is a suspicion or not.
Additional tests may be ordered - blood and urine tests, Xrays and MRI or CAT scan.
They do a biopsy of the swelling or different area and have a look at what they are dealing with and make a decision from there.

depends on the cancer. you can have biopsy of a solid tumor, bone marrow biposy for blood cancers a CT scan, MRI or preferably a PET scan. Some cancers haver specific blood tests that mark a level of cancer antigen (prostate, breast, colon and ovarian have these markers).

If you have a tumor they can biopsy it. THey can also do a PET scan where they inject a sugar solution and do a CAT scan....the sugar collects at the cancer sites.

there are many different factors that determine cancer, not just one standard test.. this is something that needs to be discussed with a professional that is knowledgeable especially if you fear you might have symptoms...
