"pagan" is a descriptive word (adjective) which is secondary to the noun, in this case "stupidity."

she has become an occult figure whose followers are typical kool-aid drinkers for anything she concocts behind the camera and ladles out to the mindless masses who are typically devoid of original thought. just like Oprah they medicate their emptiness with the latest fad, food, literary drivel and/or scripted human drama that doubles for reality.
she has become a leader of the feckless, unloved and unsatiated. witness her weight loss, weight gain roller coaster rides. she is a lost soul, hiding behind her camera.

note: small "p" pagan is an adjective, with definition clearly illustrated.
I did not write "Pagan", a proper noun, to which the huddled masses have taken exception. You sensitive "Pholks" need to learn how to read.

for the slow "Pholks" who still cannot wrap their little Oprah brain around something not found in daytime tv.... try reading a book not on Big O's list.
You just might actually learn something besides how to be pc.

I never though I would see an answer after reading your question and explanations or justifications for it.... Oprah is a powerhouse and please don't think that she didn't work hard to get where she is. There are good shows and topics and there are those that are not so good but it doesn't change the fact that she is sitting at the TOP, the pinnacle of success. Your opinion will not change her status or her accomplishments and they shouldn't as you are certainly entitled to your beliefs. Some will agree with you and others will not and that is what makes us individual. I like Oprah (most of the time) but there have been occasions that I feel she is less than sincere or truthful about the issues she is addressing. As for "the embodiment of pagan stupidity gripping this country", you can't be for real. That remark is too degrading for the general populace and absolutely unfounded. If you wish to find fault and express it, then simply state why you feel the way you do and leave it at that.

I've never watched Oprah, certainly have seen her on the tabloids while doing my grocery shopping. Guess I don't do much television period, don't get me wrong, I do watch some, never missing the world series and a couple other programs. Well you are on the money with stupidity gripping this country, no shortage of that but some how I can't associate pagan with stupidity. For me pagan does not mean stupid, maybe not understood or different but not stupid. Actually at my age I wouldn't mind being part of a neo-paganist, hedonist convention, but I digress.

What does a person need to do to please people? Oprah has done much good and it can't be denied. Yet here we find people faulting her for doing some or all of those things for selfish reasons as though they are able to read her mind.
Would it matter? The fact that she does them is enough.
By the way - There are several other teevee personalities who have been on long enough to make Oprah seem like a newcomer so why not spread that criricism around a bit?

I don't have an opinion about Oprah either way, but I am puzzled by your use of "pagan stupidity." As opposed to, say, "Christian stupidity" or "atheistic stupidity"? You just left us with a very strong impression that you're being a blowhard.
While you claim that you're not using the word "pagan" in any religious sense, I've got news for you: its meaning is basically religious and you don't need to hit us on the head with your online dictionary to tell us what it means.
If you didn't mean anything contentious related to religion, please don't use the word "pagan".

I too feel that she has done a lot of good for a lot of people. But I think she does those things to gain popularity for herself, which is selfish. I liked her a lot more 15 years ago when she was simply a caring talk show host. Now, she's gotten too big and thinks she can do whatever the heck she wants. I think she needs to take a break and step back to let someone else take the limelight for a while. Honestly, I'm just getting tired of hearing about her and seeing her face.

I resent the use of the word Pagan. I am Pagan. Oprah is Christian. You are the ignorant one. I don't even watch Oprah but I think you should find a better use of your time like reading.

pagan with either size P is irrelevant. unless, of course you're using it in a denigrating christo-fascist type attacking way indicating some form of evil disapproved of by the troglodyte lemmings. anyway, oprah's "problem" from my total of 45 minutes watching her appears to be the usual human one: a huge ego and an overworked/fevered left brain leading to distinct confusion at most times of the day and night--leading to less than skillful behavior more often than not. also, she's an aquarius with a "very interesting" natal chart. this means she's quite unusual, which of course she is. bottom line---she doesn't appeal much to me. but alot more than, say, "dr. phil"

What's wrong with being a lost soul?
Or are some people born "found"?
No, I don't like Oprah. She'll be off the tv soon anyway. She's getting old.
