I don't think so.
According to the reading I have done regarding hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) the brain, when it senses that blood sugar is low, will do sometimes strange things to get the blood sugar (glucose) out of storage and into the blood stream. Making muscles exercise on their own (spasms) are one sure way to do this.
Suggestion? Take 4 big deep breaths - inhaling and exhaling - but not holding or doing fast. Does that stop the twitches, for a moment?
If it does, next try making your lids move. Bat your eyelashes, wiggle your eyebrows. Does this stop the twitches momentarily?
Then, low blood sugar may be the cause.
For relatively long short term relief, go to the kitchen and get some protein, meat, a can of tuna or whatever, and eat it. Also have some carbohydrate, like a handful of chips, or some carrots/celery and some nuts or peanut butter. Eat at least 2 ounces of the protein. Then drink a glass of water and do something else for 30 minutes. You may find your twitches have lessened a bit.
Chronic low blood sugar can also be the cause of a whole bunch of other physical and mental nasties. You may want to check out the symptoms link on www.hufa.org, and see how you check out.

The symptoms of a stroke include:
Sudden numbness or weakness of the face, arm or leg, especially on one side of the body.
Sudden confusion, trouble speaking or understanding.
Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes or double vision.
Sudden trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination.
Sudden, severe headache with no known cause.
So you are probably more than likely not suffering from a stroke.
My eye twitches like that when I am either tired or dehydrated. So either take a nap (or go to sleep for the night) and/or drink some fluids and have a small snack.

Don't freak out! You're not having a stroke. Chances are it's related to your eye muscles or you may have an electrolyte imbalance, (electrolytes in the human body include sodium, potassium, calcium, phosphorus, chloride, magnesium, etc). Electrolytes in the body work with your muscles and nerves. Drink plenty of fluids containing electrolytes (Powerade, Gatorade). If you have been sweating a lot, you may have lost some electrolytes. Make sure you replenish your body with fluids to keep you from becoming dehydrated. If this doesn't help within a day or so you may want to consult your family physician. Other causes may be nerve related. from, Jill,R.N.

Hey lampshade, youre not having a stroke. You need to improve your diet and relax. Eye twitches are sometimes brought on by minor dehydration and a good lot of the time by stress. So grab a glass of ice water and chill my friend. Have a good night.

Uh, probably not. I get those when I'm anxious/nervous/stressed out. Its only the right eye tho. If you were having a stroke you'd probably be paralyzed on one side, slurred speech, etc.

I doubt it, I had the same thing happen for 3 months after my surgery. I don't know if it had something to do with the anaesthesia or what. I googled your question and this is what I got:

I don't know what causes it, but I get this often, could be stress related since it does go away after a while.
