Sorry, Jay, you don't know what you're talking about. The G35 is in fact the US version of the Skyline. The Fairlady (350Z in the US) and the Skyline couple share a fairly substantial number of parts and that continues in the US as well, but they do have some minor differences. The Fairlady and 350Z are essentially the same vehicles, the Skyline and the G35 are essentially the same. Since these are all in the same family, the Skyline/G35 coupes and the Fairlady/350Z coupes are all related, nobody denies that. Still, despite the relationship between these two cars (and their four names), there are still two tiers for the vehicles on both sides of the Pacific: the G35 and Skyline form the upper tier and the 350Z and Fairlady form the entry-level tier.

I'm really sick and tired of the people on this forum that think the Skyline is just the Skyline GT-R, it's stupid. Stop playing Gran Tourismo and reading your Import Loser magazines and actually try visiting company web sites before making a fools of yourselves. The Skyline is a very old style of car, it goes back over 40 years now. The name Skyline does not only apply to the GT-R, it'd be nice if illiterates would learn this basic fact.

Take a look at:
http://www2.nissan.co.jp/SKYLINE/V35/0511/GRADE/main1.html
It's pretty clear that there's a very strong similarity between the Skyline and the G35. Some key differences are: the 2500cc engines are not sold in the US, right-hand steering, and the US G35 has more power. Read the specs, compare them, review the interiors and build style.

The US version of the Skyline is not the G35....the G35 is the Infinity version of the 350Z.
As for the Skyline, might be or '08 or even an '09 model. Sounds like it's till up in the air if its going to all wheel drive or not, and if its going to turbo charged or not. There is a picture at http://www.nissanusa.com/gt-r/

From the nissan usa website

"The dream of every red-blooded automotive enthusiast is coming true. On April 12, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. President and CEO Carlos Ghosn gave the wake up call; the Nissan GT-R is go. The production version will make its world debut at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show. It will go on sale in Japan in Fall 2007. U.S. and Canada will follow in Spring 2008."
