depends on your preferences. theres lots of places with different averages for cost of living, so thats one factor. then theres things like sales taxes, and property taxes. also, the climate that you like, and the natural disasters that come with it. i live in massachusetts, and i like it. lots of good schools and hospitals, relatively low sales tax compared to some places, and theres none in NH, so i can just drive about 25 minutes for a large purchase if i want. and we do get our fair share of snow, but theres not really any other serious natural disaster scenarios. we got some flash flooding this year, but nothing compared to what some places get. we dont have earthquakes, monsoons, hurricanes, tornadoes, etc. or, at least nothing serious. just snow storms.

If you're looking for a place to meet specific needs and/or preferences
you should try Findyourspot.com. They have put together a rather
lengthy questionaire (8 pages), all devoted to helping define your
true preferences. After you complete the questionnaire they supply
you with a listing for 24 different towns in the US that would match what you are looking for. There's a bio, pictures and even realtor listings available for the different towns. It takes a little time but it really kinda
fun. Best of all, it's Free!! So when you've nothing to do,check it out.

Wisconsin,I lived in IL for 12 years and have lived in WI for 12 yrs,i love it here and i realize there is no way i could ever move back there. It's much cheaper to live,i mean rent wise and you can buy a nice house and pay like $500 a month, food is cheaper, but i do have to say that clothes are cheaper in IL.It's quiet, depending on where you live here, people are nice, you just have to experience it for yourself.I am originally from chicago and believe me i remember what people in IL say about wisconsinites, the state is not full of hicks like people think.People are friendly and willing to help you with anything.

It would depend on what you are looking for in a home town.
For me my favorite place was Chattanooga, TN. Its beautiful, its weather is mild and it was everything I needed at that time in my life.
These days I call a small town in NE Ohio home because my needs have changed and one of those needs is to be near my extended family. But I still have times when I really miss the south.

There are so many beautiful places to live in the USA, that it would be hard to pick just one. Personally, I love New England, especially on the ocean in Maine or Connecticut. But, the west is beautiful too.

I am finding Connecticut a beautiful place to raise my family. I think it depends on what you are looking for. If you are looking for culture and excitement - New York City or Las Vegas. If you like a warmer climate - southern US. Colder climate - Northern US. I grew up in NY and now live in CT and I absolutely LOVE it!!!
