It is very easy now to look back and say perhaps this attack was not right. However it was clear to anyone paying attention that before we attacked them we had no proof of anything.

Gen. Powell's address to the UN was a farce. I do not mean to put this on him as he did what he thought right at the time. Even he sees that as the lowest point in his career. If you watched it at the time you know what I mean. The "evidence" he presented was so circumstantial that, in a court of law, it would have been very hard to prove anything.

Long before we attacked it was clear it would happen. Even if every other country in the world would not join it was going to happen. We had no more places in Afghanistan to bomb. We couldn't find Ben Laden. But we had to do something. And this president knew that in order to be remembered in history he had to be a WAR President. This golden opportunity could not be passed up.

At that point any contesting of that war should have been make, load and clear. It was not by the people. It was not by congress.

Now it is done. There is nothing to contest. We now must give the Iraq people a chance to begin again. If we do not, it will soon be another terrorist country that will launch it's hateful campaign at us.

The initial unjust cause behind the war itself. 9-11 was Bush's excuse to invade Iraq, a country which did not have anything to do with the 9-11 attacks.

And many people say Iraq harbors terrorists and supports terrorism. Well, is that a reason to attack it when Afghanistan was the main enemy? Think of it this way, it's like America attacking Italy for their relations with Hitler's Nazi Germany, it doesn't make any sense (not that this happened in real life, just providing an example).

OMG! Do you people read much, or just watch the 5 second clips on the nightly news channel and draw your conclusions from there?

Saddam Hussein was a dictator, that killed hundreds of thousands of his own people. He was constantly in violation of some WMD agreements he had with us. His country is the exact epicenter of the Middle East. We were already going after Bin Laden since he shimmies and shakes between Afghanistan, and Pakistan...Saddam was even more dangerous because of his support of the terrorists, his money, his will, and his secrecy. To allow him to stay in power and continue as he was would have been a MAJOR injustice to this world. He would have, if given the opportunity, jump in and support the terrorists. PERIOD!

Do yourselves a favor...educate yourselves not on the left side, and not on the right, but everywhere in between and use logic.

Because all I saw was a bunch of self-proclaimed Macho Men swelling all up like the big bully that, after getting punched in the nose, looked around for the littlest guy in the crowd and chose to unleash our military might and save face at his expense.
Many people advised against this immature, irrational, and childish way of thinking but were...............ignored and/or dismissed. Many of them warned of the myriad of problems that we have faced, and are facing still now.
Bush and Company will continue with "Stay the Course!" because admitting they were wrong is "Out Of The Question!"
And these kids that are convinced they are defending The U.S. Constitution and Homeland are not aware of the "truth". They are defending a bunch of dishonest, corporate thieves, and Congresspersons that would all be locked up if they hadn't hijacked this Gov,t and Court system as they have.

Because all the reasons used didn't pan out, there were no WMDs, Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11 and well we can just attack a nation because we don't like the way it is run.

The reason that the United States initiated the war, without evidence to support their claim of "weapons of mass destruction, and without consent from the United Nations Security council.

We put Saddam in power and fed his ambitions and helped him fight the Iranian war while we were also secretly helping the Iranians. Going to war against Iraq is like declaring war on the CIA. It's just senseless.

It would be those two poor young american soldiers who were tortured and beheaded last week. I'm tired of seeing pictures of beautiful young people on the news every night who will never come home and whose lives were just starting but now have ended in a barbaric way. It is breaking my heart.

Because a 28 year old friend of ours was killed, and because my husband was away for me for long periods, in a country which we had invaded on a false premise, illegally, and in contravention of The Geneva Convention.
