My question is, "How can you use the bible to justify your behavior when it's choc full of contradictions?", not, "How can you explain the contradicitions in the bible?"

In your question, what is "choc full of contradictions"? Do you mean the Bible or do you mean the behavior?

If you mean the justification of behavior, the Bible says in words that anyone can make it say anything they want it to say. All one must do is to improperly divide the words written and assign meanings to the words that are correct. Do you know that every word in the English language has two meanings and they are in opposition to each other. For example the word "Let" means to help or to hinder.

Now if you are talking of the contradictions in the Bible, such is a matter of opinion. One says there are contradictions while another says there are not. Thus such appears to be in the mind and a mind set of each individual and what he or she is willing to accept as truth.

In my opinion I just let each to believe what they want, do what they want and I do the same. I just try to avoid conflict, smile and let the time pass having a good day. Why not do the same if you like to? Just let other live in their own world and let the future [tomorrow] judge today.

I haven't researched the others, but the last one, whether he was descended from Solomon or Nathan, it's a cultural thing. It was a patriarchal culture at the time, so a woman rarely had a genealogy researched. Only a handful exist, actually. One oddity about them is that they never contained the name of the woman, but her husband's. One of these handful of genealogies is that of Mary, in the book of Mathew, Luke is that of Joseph.

In the case of the Ark, it's not seven of the clean animals, it is seven pairs, the translation is dificuly because the English language is simplistic. They came in pairs, each one and their mate, it doesn't specify on pair of each, though.

http://www.carm.org/diff/2Sam24_1.htm for one part of the last one, as far as the specific number of men, what do you get when you round 470,000? 500,000. Not sure if that's the correct reason, but it works, ne?

You did ask for them to be explained in one of your edits.

You've listed a couple, that's not exactly choc full, If what you present can be shown not to be contradictions, then where are the contradictions?
I've had a lot of people say "All those contradictions!" but nobody was every able to point any out that were actually contradictions.

why should I even try to answer this when you've already decided how you feel?
if I say yes it contradicts itself, you'll say "ha! your faith is bogus!"
if I say no it doesn't, you call me a brainwashed fool who cannot think logically.
so what am I supposed to say? I have an idea. I'll go through Yahoo Answers, see how many times this has been asked, and read what they wrote.
wow, that question has been asked on here more than a hundred times.
and here is, what I think, a really good answer:
No the Bible does not contradict itself. There are those who do not want to believe in what the Bible says, so they will take a verse and read it out of context and then interpret it to mean something it does not. These people are foolish, and when you actually read and study the Bible you will truly see that God does and will not ever contradict Himself.

Well I read the Bible daily and I haven't come across any of these contradictions you talk of. Perhaps you could tell me which contradiction you are talking about.
But I suggest you have never even looked at the Bible and rather you are making a false statement that just proves how uneducated you are.

Someone published a list of over 1000 history books with contradictions in them. I have looked for that site again and can't find it. But grow up. Men write books and errors and contradictions are easy to find. So do you just reject every such book?

The Bible is written like a mystery. It is up to you to read and solve the mysteries and show yourself worthy of God's promise.
The more you study the scriptures, the more you come to understand the message God is sending. I have read passages many times over and over again, and not understood the meaning, then suddenly the message seems to jump from the page! It is a glorious feeling to find the meaning. So
STUDY, TO SHOW THYSELF APPROVED!!!

Name one, i think you are those kind of people that "doesn't believe in God or the Bible" however when an articule so obscure as "The Gospel of Judas" comes along you believe on it, so to me it seems to me that actually you are a Bible and God believer but there is no way you can't deny it

The vast majority of Christians have never read the bible. And, those who have do not read it critically. They ignore anything that they cannot fit into their delusions.

Religion is an addictive drug, just like Marx opined over 100 years ago.

You have to have the HOLY SPIRIT living in you to Lead and Guide you to all TRUTH. Otherwise, the BIBLE will seem to contradict it's self in alot of places.

The contradictory and inconsistent nature of the bible is accurately reflected in the contradictory and inconsistent behaviour of bible-believers.
