Since when did this anti-American jargon start to become a trend? Americans are individuals just like anyone else. There are plenty of other arrogant people in the world who I'm sure could give us some competition.
Start asking better questions & you'll get better answers. I agree with a lot of the other answers. Stop generalizing.

Do we think we are the most important people in the world? Perhaps. It’s hard not to. Seems everyone wants to come here. You don’t see people risking their lives to sneak into Argentina or Russia so they can live and work their illegally. Tell me where in the world you can go that the population is not fascinated with American politics, American movies, and American celebrities? I think China might soon catch up and overtake us as a planet player which would be fine with me. In the mean time, like it or not, the situation is what it is.

If you are from another planet and don't understand being self-confident then yes it would be considered arrogant but then evidently you have not self-confidence and are jealous of the people who do GO BUY A BOOK about improving your self worth!! You'll feel great and not condemn the United States who gave lots of people their freedom!!!

The simple fact that each of us is an individual should stop that generalization from being fact. We think for ourselves not as a collective unit. Some are pretty ,some are wise, some are arrogant, some are humble but that is the same in every country. We are passonate about our country, we have pride in America .as you have pride in your country.

A lot are. Some aren't. They don't stamp us out on the identity machine so you can expect a lot of individual variations. That is the one thing that is categorically true about Americans. They are all different individuals.

No way. I'm not arrogant. I'm just.... opinionated. LOL I'm just a middle class girl trying to stay outta the poor class and get my life in gear. Most of us are very insecure with our ourselves. Except for a lot of movie stars. most of them are arrogant.

Don't mistake the confidence Americans have, which comes from having the freedoms we do, with arrogance.
