Nothing will happen she is old enough and no one would bother as she is so close to 18. She is not a child and there is not even an age difference issue. How many high school seniors 17 & 18 do you think are involved with each other in this country? Butt out of their lives, it would be a different matter if she was under 16. The police will tell you there is nothing they can or will do.

Let see, I know of this famous pop star who has sex with little boys and gets away with it. Of course we are not talking of anything that serious, just dating. Lets see, if the two were friends, that's okay. If the two held hands, that's okay. They go to the movies together, that's okay. Well, they can do a lot more, without having sex and I am pretty sure it would be okay. You could call the police, but why would you? Just to be a jerk? Jealous? Problems??? What would happen? That 18 year old could pummel you into the ground, the police would do nothing, they might tell you that you need to get over it and get a life. I think that maybe that is what you should do anyway.

This depends on what state you are in. In some states they are pretty heavy handed on this subject. On others, they could care less and will look at the difference in age first. If you want to know what your state thinks about this, call your local Sheriff's dept or Police and ask them. You will find out really quick if they think they would care. I personally think that there isn't enough of a difference to warrant putting a Sex Offender mark on someone for life. Is that really what you want to do? Seriously, why do you want to do this? Are you angry with them or do you really believe that ONE year is enough for a problem? If your state is one of the heavy handed type, you could ruin this guy's life forever. I don't believe the punishment fits the crime in this case. I would let go, but that's my opinion. There are tons of REAL pedophiles out there that need to be put away. Turn them in instead.

In AZ there is no problem with it if the parents of the minor dont have a problem with it. And in Colo. the age of sexual consent is 15 years, long as it agreed between both partys . And no you could not call the police and tell them because she is not that young and that is not your worry

They're just dating?! That's fine.
If he's acting like a plumber, that could be statutory rape.
An 18 y/o is an adult. A 17 y/o is not, she's a minor. Minor's can not give consent (nor can they enter into a binding contract).

It depends on the state and in some states a minor of 16 can consent to sex and in other states it's older or younger. Also if the girl is a willing participant they why are you trying to bust the couple up?

Nothing. The only restriction is that he is an adult and technically she's a minor. Her parents could get a restraining order.

She is of age to consent (Which is 16), and there is less than 5 years difference between thie ages!!

its not so much the dating its what they're doing...
thats illegal still in the eyes of the law, i doubt strong enforcement of that law would be used in this situation.. a 17 yr old and an 18 yr old is socially acceptable, for example my husband is 9 months younger than me so when he was 17, I was 18.... you get my point!

It depends state to state. In some states 17 is legal anyways.

Also alot of states have a 3 year rule. As long as you're within 3 years of each other, they can't do anything about it.

The bigger question is why would you want to get someone in that much trouble?

If the girl is 16, she's of legal consent in most states. The court would also look at the very slight age difference and probably dismiss it. And if her parent's don't mind, what business is it of yours?
