It is so hard not to step on the grave at the cemetery I go to. The graves are literally shoulder to shoulder, head to foot. There is nothing to mark where the grave is except for a very small name plate at the head of the site. I try to walk lightly. Don't run. Try to step on the outside edge by walking between the name plates, and try to mentally apologize to anyone who may not like me being there. Silliness really. I'm sure the souls will forgive me. When I'm down there, please feel free to walk across my grave and not worry.. I understand

Since cemeteries have made everything even with the ground for easier mowing, it is hard to tell where to walk. I try not to walk on the marker itself, but I don't worry too much about walking anywhere else.
[The cemeteries here usually have lots of Canada goose poop, so mostly people are trying to avoid stepping in it.]

Well it's just not nice. You shouldn't do either. Have a person show you how the graves run and are set so you'll no not to step on them. Mom showed me once and I havne't stepped on anyone in a long time

When I was a little girl we use to visit the cemetery at least every 6 months. My grandmother would say do not step on the graves because you will step on their souls and you wouldn't want them to lose their souls because you crushed them. Still today I will not step on someones soul..............

It might be disrespectful just see if you can try and walk on the outskirts of the grave. Since they're dead they might not be able to tell and I'm sure they'll forgive you if your sorry.

I know how you feel whenever I walk by I try to not walk on it and I think of the shape the coffin has and i try to walk around it. I feel bad as if I am disrespecting them when I step on it.

I try not to because i can imagine the families faces if they saw me standing on their nearest and dearest, and I think its disrespectful, but sometimes you can't help it, and I just say sorry.
