Dyke 8 is a good place. You have to use a leash. It's best during the winter months when nobody else is around. At that part of the year you can take him off the leash, Besides that, you don't have to pay at the kiosk. Just about anywhere in the valley you will have to pay...unless it's winter. Here in Diamond Springs we have a multitude of places.I live at Lake Oaks and we have a trail around our 33 acre lake. It's very nice. Good luck. Wherever you go down there, don't go alone. Lots of bad guys.

Try looking on www.dogfriendly.com or asking your local Petsmart or Petco--those guys usually know!
