There are alot of unkowns in this question. The answer depends on your child's age and if the act was done intentionally. Also, is the daycare a daycare center with several rooms and lots of employees or a home daycare. A center should have insurance to cover this as well as a built in policy. Things break at daycares, if it was a toy that your child broke they wouldn't ask you to replace it so long as he was playing with it nicely. On the other hand, if the child was older...say a school age child who is only there afterschool and the intent was to break the window or he was old enough to know better, then you should have your child earn the money to pay for the window. In anycase, it is better to be straight forward and discuss it calmly with the director/owner of the daycare rather then just assuming either way. Ultimately it will probably be up to the daycare on if you pay or they pay or you split the bill. Good luck.

You should pay for it or at least offer if the daycare center or home has insurance that will cover the replacement cost. Your son should have to do something to help earn some money towards it as well. Maybe some chores around the daycare or perhaps chores at home to earn some extra money Regardless of his age and if it was an accident, he should learn to be responsible for his actions.

Ask if the daycare has insurance. I would then contact the insurance company and ask what my responsibilities are. If you must pay the daycare directly, ask for 3 estimates for the repair and pay the repair shop directly.

The day care should have a liability insurance to cover any damages to the property. If it is in the providers home they should have homeowners/ rental insurance that should cover with an appendix that states that the insurance has an additional clause and the home is also a business. Either way you should only be responsible for a portion of the cost.

If you aint sign no contract when you enrolled him about insurance or nothing, the daycare should pay. They know they're risking everything in the building with children around. And they know kids dont know better... it is NOT your responsibility to pay for things like that.

If it was done intentially by your child, as in, he was being a monster and threw something at the window, you should pay.
If it was done accidently, the daycare should have insurance to cover it. If they do not have insurance to cover it, I would get my child out of there and find a daycare that does!
Makes me wonder who was watching your child to let something like this happen????

If it were anywhere but a daycare it would be you. The fact that your child was in their care makes them responsible for his actions during that time. They were not properly supervising him if this happened. How old is your child? The younger he is the worse it is for the daycare.

the daycare should pay. They are insured for this kind of stuff. If they were smart they wouldnt even ask you to pay because who was "watching your child to let this happen?"
