Guys are weird sometimes. Sometimes we cling and other times we don't.
The trick is to be yourself and do fun things, that you both enjoy. Also, remember not to hold on too tight...give the boy as much room as he needs.
There are a lot of good books about understanding men and women. you might want to pick one up. At least then you can understand the nature of the beast.

I don't know your Personality, but you just might start by, making things joketive. Maybe the two of you, take things to serious! Go some where & have some fun, or fix him his favorite dinner, go for an Ice Cream Sunday,Show, Restuant. Mostly find out what is bring him kind of down lately.

I've given away my heart,
So it could be torn into pieces.
He left me with the feelings of betrayal and being forgotten.
I'm so in love, yet so alone, with two years thrown away.
Feeling his absense hurts the most.
My constant urge to call is almost taking over, while on the other side, my cycle of feelings starts with rage.
Slowly going into sadness, rage again, desperation, devastation, and finally denial.
Every morning I open my eyes to emptiness.
Seeing a long black hallway with nothing in between.
This so-called love has taken over my life leaving me distracted.
Days pass by and now my emotions are going crazy.
Leaving me no choice but to vomit.
To empty my pesimistic thoughts.
To stop thinking my life is over.
To stop my tears everynight from falling.
To stop feeling like my heart has shattered into fifty pieces.
The hardest part of moving on is the jealousy on top of all my misery.
But soon enough I'll go to bed realizing I survived this struggle.
I need to escape my depression to continue breathing.
And regain my strength to love again.
(they'll come and go, but if they love you theyll always come back, and if they dont, they dont deserve you)

Hey some guys have bad days and well they like to go into their shell and become very distant and at those times become very hard to reach. I wouldnt worry it should be just a phase but if you want to be sure that hes still yours surprise him, make him a nice meal plan a nice romantic evening to make him feel special and to show him how you feel.

maybe it wasn't a real vibe? It's not always that obvious, but I don't know why someone would get bored after a month? He's either incredibly shallow or you're reading him wrong.

you cant make someone be with you if he doesn't want to be.
Maybe you should talk to him now before he takes off and find out what he thinks would make the relationship better.
BTW - are you sure he's working and not with someone else?
