Teenagers Only : If someone told you that you look like your mother/father, would you take it as an insult or a compliment... and Why?

More specifically.. guys if you were told you look like your father and gals, If you were told you look like your mom ...

I haven't been a teenager for a while, but I have always preferred someone saying I looked like myself. I was never insulted by being told I look like my parents. It's a teenage thing. You get used to it as you get older, believe me.

well I actually get told that quite frequently. I can walk up to someone who knows my father but has never met me and they often say "Are you Alan McGraths' boy?" so I mean yea its frustrating that i am forever compared to my father but hy such is life. The worst thing is... ok so i'm a guy rite and its when I answer the phone I always say "Hello Anthony Speaking..." rite and it cuts me when the person on the other end of the line replys "O hi Jeanette..." Jeanette is my mother. now that really pisses me off and is rather insulting.

I would be insulted if they said that I looked like my mom, but if I was a guy and was told I look like my dad that would be a compliment, my dad is so good-looking......and no one take that wrong..... I love my daddy

People tell me I look like my mother all the time except that I am alot taller!!! I take it as a compliment! She is beautiful~

I would take it as an insult. I don't want to look like my mother, I want to look like me, I want my own beauty to shine through, not my mother's. It makes it seem as if I am not my own person, but a copy. Besides, she is old and has wrinkles, but I still love her.

If someone told me i looked like my mom i'd be flattered because my mom is a very beautiful person and if someone tole me i looked like my dad i'd be some what flattered because since he's a man it seems like they are saying i look like a man...but i have good looking parents so its no harm to me.

Honestly what kind of question is that everyone and i mean everyone is bound to look like there parents even if in only small details. but i think i know what you meant something else for example when they tell me i look like my father i get pissed. i think everyone wants to look and feel like an individual.

I wouldn't be insulted unless my mom I thought was ugly then yes I would be hurt.
