Yes, I love photography. The best photo I have ever taken would have to be of a field across the street from my grandma's house.
The feeling the photo brought to me was...peace. I felt at peace with the world when I looked at it. I love taking scenery photos as well...

Photography is a great hobby/profession of mine and I wouldn't give it up for the world.
Up until two days ago, my favorite photo was a B&W image of a bride and her new groom. She was nestled into his chest with her eyes partially closed. The image itself was really blown out of contrast with no details in the highlights which really added to the feel of the photo. I loved this photo then I receieved a phone call on July 2nd.
My last bride I photographed called and said that her grandfather just passed away and the only photograph that was taken of him over the past year was one I took at their wedding a few weeks ago. They wanted a 16x20 framed image of him for his funeral. It was of him, his wife and the bride and groom (taken right after the anniversary dance). It was a fun photograph. So, if you ask that bride, that photograph is the single best photo I have ever taken.

I was shooting a story about baptism in the Mississippi Delta. I found out when one was occurring and asked permission to photograph the event. Six children were all dressed in white robes that were so bright you wanted sun glasses. The preacher waded out into the pond and began baptizing these children one at a time. It was full immersion so they were dunked under water. Some of the kids were scared by the dunk but some rose from the water with the most peaceful look you could ever imagine. It was the most spiritual experience of my life. (footnote....a bit later it was learned that the pond was contaminated by agricultural chemicals.....this was the last baptism in this pond.....I watched and photographed a piece of history.)

My best picture was a portrait. I love capturing people. I got a picture of my very attractive cousin through a 3 inch iron ring that framed the picture with such class... it was true art. At least in my own not so humble opinion.

When I was stationed in Nuremburg, Germany back in 1982 I took this great picture of a red rose, it was in one of Hitlers gardens. At the time it amazed me because having Germany ancestry, I have a great disgust for him, but here was this beautiful rose in a garden he was responsible for.
When I got home I showed it to my Mom and she just loved it. So that Mother's Day I blew it up to an 8"x10" and framed it and gave it to her. It hung on a wall in the front room until she died last year. It's one of the few things I got when she died and it hangs in my front room as well. And now when I look at it it reminds me of her.
