Yes, you can be allergic!

As with any substance, it is possible to be allergic to seminal fluid. It's estimated that up to 5% of women are allergic to semen.

Allergy to semen was first reported by gynecologists in 1958. but wasn't studied in depth until 1996. Semen allergies are related to food allergies in that the proteins are similar (eww!)

Symptoms: localized reactions can include vaginal burning, pain, swelling, redness, or blisters forming within 30 minutes of exposure to semen. The systemic reactions can include generalized itching, hives, angioedema, wheezing, and in very rare cases anaphylaxis.

Keep in mind, itching and or rash is also a classic symptom/s of a yeast infection. Semen allergies may also make it difficult to conceive.

One sure way to determine if a semen allergy exists is to try using condoms. If no symptoms exist when a condom is used, then there is a possibility that a semen allergy exists.

More Common Allergy Culprits
Other aspects of your sex life can also cause your symptoms to flare. You may be sensitive or allergic to birth control pills, latex condoms, lubricating gels, spermicides, or even the scented products your partner uses.

Talk to your Doctor or Pharmacist who may be able to help you better pinpoint your troubles.

I dont think from sperm but maybe from your birth control method or condom. or lube massage stuff shaving your or his pubic area. or even just the rubbing of hair against each other. (especially if its a new partner or you havn't had sex for a while. If it happens again or in a weird area talk to your doctor and make sure to wash the area immediately after sex!

Some women are hypersensitive to semen but it is rather rare. I would look for other possibilities including spermicide.

By the way, I have never heard of a women being particularly hypersensitive to a man's semen who ate something in which she is allergic.
