"DIN" is a size standard for car audio head units. The standard was establised by the Deutsches Institut für Normung.

Head units generally come in either single DIN (180 x 50 mm panel) or double DIN (180 x 100 mm panel). The depth is not standard.

The original German DIN standard has, since 1992, been superceded by International Standard ISO 10599.

Not sure but I think its something like "dealer identification number" I had a Volkswagon Jetta once that required a code from the dealer any time the power was cut off from the radio - like when changing the battery - it is an anti theft device and kind of a pain.
