I dont own any, but we have some pet cats at the Shelter where I work, They are up for adoption but have earned the right to run around...2 of them dont like to be handled but will come up to you on their own terms for a pets or a scratch...I was never a Cat person, but the more I work with them the more I see what everyone likes about them

Not many cats like to be held for very long. My big black male cat, has to have everything on his terms, only! Dont go to him, he'll come to you! My other male likes to lay by us, but, not being held much. But, then, when winter is here, they like to snuggle. They all just have their own personality, just let them come to you.....

My cat likes to be held and even sleeps on the bed with us.
I got her from a shelter and she was the only one who was sitting proper and meowing at us while the other cats was hissing, I named her Fancy.

The one I got from the pound is ok, she lets me hold her like a baby, or throw her over my shoulder, (not literally). The other two, I took from off the street, and though they are getting better after two years, they still are no comfortable being held. I need to watch their back feet when I pick them up. They love cuddling though...

My cat only likes to be held if you walk around with her. Stand still and it ain't gonna happen.

yeh my cat hates being held. she's lovely, adorable and the best cat in the world (to me) but she hates having cuddles. I live with it. I respect her wishes. If I didn't I'd get torn to shreds anyway!

My cat is rather strange. She does not like to be picked up or pet, but she is a lap cat. She used to bite you if you did try to pet her, but she is getting a little bit better.

My cat is the sweetest... at ground level only. I guess she's one of those cats that would rather have you go down to their level rather than vice versa. But it's ok, holding her gets fur all over me anyways.
