Use this tool to calculate body mass index, and determine what is an appropriate weight for a person (based on height and age). You should always consult a physician if you are concerned about your child's health, however.

I was always tiny, was still under 80lbs when I got into 6th grade. Was short forever until I finally caught up in freshman year of high school and got to average height. I'm still a light weight, but now only on the lighter end of normal for my height. More then likely she's fine, as long as she doesn't seem unhealthy and a doctor doesn't think so. She'll probably turn out fine like I did.

Well the 1st question is how old is your daughter ?
Then the next would be what would you consider to be healthy ?
There are many individuals that are shorter than what is considered normal and live a Happy healthy life style so don't put to much stress on yourself or your daughter. So long as your both happy she'll be fine.

I think it matters how old she is. My advice is to make an appointment for her to see her family doctor- and if she is a grown adult encourage her to do so for herself. Once in the doctor's office, they can examine her to see if she is in a normal height and weight range for her age.
If she is not, make an appointment for her to see a dietician, as they can look specifically into what her body type needs to be able to be at her highest functioning level.
If you do these things and still find out that she is "normal"- make sure she feels psychologically stable as well. There could be something going on for her that may be preventing her from gaining weight.

My daughter is the same height and weighs 91 lbs but, she is only nine!I think we need to make them play, exercise , instead of playing on the play station all the time! She never wants to go out and play anymore!Cut the junk food, fruit and healthy foods. Start having her drink water instead of juice.

There are charts for hieght and wieght - if she eats is active and relatively happy I'd just leave it be. Putting pressure on her in a world full of images can't be good home should be an escape from all the comercial BS not a continuation of it.

You need to calm down, if you make a big deal about it you are going to give her a complex! If she does not show any signs of ill health she is just fine. Everyone's weight varies at that age, especially if they are active. Some people have fast metabolisms and it will make them thin, it doe snot mean they are unhealthy....just lucky in most people's opinions. Just make sure she eats normally, gets her vitamins and calcium, and tell her she is beautiful everyday.

Is she 4, 14, or 44? It makes a difference I think.

http://www.deathclock.com/ go here to find her BMI. You have to factor her age in. If she is 12 she still has a way to grow. If she is 17. You might have some thinking to do.
