I'm potentially buying a car (2002 Hyundai Sonata) and it will come with this because it's under so many miles. What does it mean? I'm guessing it will vary from dealership to dealership?

A bumper to bumper warranty means that everything that is part of the drive-train(engine , transmission) , electrical , airbag system, suspension and others are covered, the exceptions are the wear and tear parts and the maintenance.
However, you should be aware that Hyundai has a 100,000 or 10 years warranty only for the original owner, the second owner gets 70,000 or 7 years only, no matter what, it is still one of the best coverage on the market.
My final suggestion is to ask as many questions as possible , so that you know what your coverage includes, do not fall for the bullshit of a salesman or a mechanical ad-visor, if it's not written on the warranty paperwork, it is not included.
good luck.

Hyundai a well made automobile, has one of the best warrantys available today.
Basically it means exactly as it sounds. Anything from the front bumper to rear bumper, under normal use, that fails mechanically is covered, at least to some degree, if not all, under your warranty.
Assuming your buying the car from a new car dealer, it is covered by all dealers, anywhere.

The meaning of bumper to bumper should mean that all parts of the car are covered by warranty as this is what it implies. In reality there are still excluded items such as belt, oil, oil filters, and others. The car sellers remember are selling the sizzle not the steak. Read the contract for warranty coverage not matter what you are told. It will avoid a lot of disappointment.

A bumper to bumper warranty is supposed to cover everything from"bumper" to "bumper". It is a full warranty that covers everything except for brakes, oil changes and other regular maintenance. It should be the same with all dealers.

Front bumper to rear bumper, and everything in between. Means it covers the whole car, body, works, etc., but you should ask if there are exceptions--what isn't covered.
