He is alright. He uses religion to help guide people toward being good people and believing they can succeed. That is what religion should do. Help people. He is much better than people like Hagee and Parsley that use their churchs to push their political agendas.

He's OK, but a little too Hollywood for me. His dad, although I didn't agree with everything he said, was far more fire and brimstone. Joel's wife is caked with makeup; although Joel does seem sincere. So, on a scale of 1-10, I give Joel Osteen a 5.

i luv joel osteen...he is a beaming ball of positivity!!!
He smiles all the time, and is very optimistic he is a great inspiration and a breath of fresh air from the usual fire and brimestone pentecostal preaching i'm used to!!!
I was raised that in the church and most preacher's damn sinners to hell and tell them about their sins and about salvation but he has a different method which is telling people how they will be rewarded and what God wants to bless them with it's different but it's cool too!!!

I really like him , but then one night he was on Larry King Live and was asked about his take on the homo's and he said that it was not his place to say anything !!! He is a preacher given a gift by god to direct his flock and to condemn sin and bring about the conviction of the holy spirit for wrong-doings , and homosexuality is just that SIN , So ever since I heard that he said that i no longer follow him... if you can't stand up for all of the bible than dont stand up for any of it !!!

I like him but I think his dad was a little more centerd on Jesus. Joel to me is becoming a litte more sef-help like. I like keeping Jesus as the focus.

he's more like a life coach than a preacher.
don't get me wrong, he's just fine to listen to. but all he ever talks about is staying positive and doing the right thing. you can hear this same message from Tony Robbins.

He's pretty funny. It would be better I think if he taught the word of God though. Being positive is fine but the word has to be taught.

I think that if he stopped trying to fill his father's shoes and was just himself i would like him better. His mom Dodi is the most awesome woman on earth,

I haven't read any of his work, but those whom I know did? Say he is helping them to live more openly for Christ.
Scriptural? I don't know his stand, but I do know that the Christian life is to be self-less, not self-serving...
