Get a copy of the current "What Color is Your Parachute?" and do the self-analysis it directs. It is a marvelous way to organize your thinking for a career change. I do hope you have a decent savings account, though, as it may take some time to get up to speed on something really new.

Obviously you are talented with your craftsmanship by using your hands. You might want to explore other mediums such as metal, glass or go into different directions with your wood work. There are many creative outlets to explore for both pleasure and profit. At this point in your life all the experience probably will make for an easy transition into your new adventure. Research all first to avoid mistakes and mishaps which usually lead to frustration. Use all of your extensive experience and creativity to explore whatever boundaries your minds and hands will take you.

you could always turn your hobby (besides carpentry) into a business. be creative. think about it. just to be honest, i don't think anyone will hire you because of your age factor. i wish you luck, though. =)
