You can't. If you say the words and the relationship changes forever.

Honestly, if you guys are REALLY that good of friends, telling them how you feel shouldn't change your relationship at all. Tell them and they'll do one of three things:

1) "Oh I love you too let's get married!" (Hehe... maybe not that extreme, but the point is that they'll return your feelings.)
2) "You freak! Gross! I can't love my best friend!" -OR- "Ummm... uh... you're making me uncomfortable... I don't want to be friends anymore." (Again the extremes... if they react anywhere close to this then they aren't really comfortable with being friends with you anyway... in other words they're a baby and immature.)
3) "Thanks for telling me but I couldn't really see us together like that. I like the way it is right now. Let's not let this change our relationship. I just want to be best friends." (The mature one... they don't want to put your friendship in drive or reverse. They like it just how it is. They want to be around you and don't want to stop being friends. Don't cry... just because they say 'no' now doesn't mean they can't/won't change their mind in the future. And don't YOU be immature about it! Be a good friend and keep it like it is. You might actually become even better friends if you both handle it maturely.)

Like I said, if they really are the good friend you say they are, they'll be mature about it whether they say yes or no. But don't be a baby if they say no. That's a BIG turn-off. Enjoy ;)

Don't be so quick to avoid change. Things can change for the better! Tell them. They should appreciate it, even if they don't feel the same way. Everyone likes to be loved :)

Love is too strong, it will change it. The only way to keep it the same is not to say anything. Trust me, I've been through the same thing with my bestfriend.

That's immpossible to do unless you keep on trying to leave as being friends or she is trying to keep as friends. from my exprience both hurts like hell.
