if you have a good friend to talk with start there. A close relative or parent can do as well. If those are not options then try a clergy-person or even a social worker . Point is that sadness that does not go away needs to be paid attention to. It is normal to be sad once in awhile for a few days but if it is persistent or of really serious intensity IE constant crying, isolating from others ,insomnia or sleeping too much, irritability , binging with food money or sex are all signs professional help is needed. Don't be afraid and don't be a statistic, take care of yourself

You'll need to find someone who will help you go through a step by step process to get to the core of your sadness. Once you are aware of the reasons for your sadness, you can release your sad emotions and feel better. It takes time because you'll need to analyze your inner dialog and change it. So just talking about how you feel can help you through this process. Find yourself a good counselor, it might take checking out a few and sometimes a good friend who listens well can be very helpful. You can contact me if you like through email.

I'm sorry to hear you are feeling down. I get that way alot of times and what I can tell you is to try to find something to keep your mind off whatever is bothering you. Anything at all, like spending time with people you care about or try reading a good book or listening to some upbeat music. Those things seem to help me out alot in my sad times. Or another suggestion would be to try to find out the root of your sadness and do something about it. I hope my advice helps a little...good luck!

Sad as in I wanna die or sad as in I just want my zits to go away? I spent a good number of years, waaay too many in the first category. How do you get out of it? Go help a homeless shelter/soup kitchen or some other charity work. You'll find that in helping others, you help yourself.
And if it's the zits question? Um...stop reading fashion mags? Not sure what to tell you on that one...

People go through different moods throughout their lifetimes. Sometimes it is OK to be sad, unhappy about things. Try to talk it over with close friends, or even your family. Open up your heart! However, if this "sad mood' won't change, you might need to seek professional help.

Believe me... I know how you feel...seriously...When I'm sad I usually try to get my mind calm... I will go for a walk around my local track or just try to get out on a beautiful day, Sometimes I'll sit down and drink some warm green tea or read a book that will help me take mind somewhere else for awhile...

Why are you sad? That's the real question. Are you depressed, or what? You need to be more specific about what your sad about. Maybe your not the success that you thought that you dreamed about. Is that making you sad? Tell me what is making you so sad.

You posted in this category, do you have diagnosed depression or bipolar? If so, NAMI.org and About.com have good forums where you can write to peers.
If you're not diagnosed, I'd seek treatment. Start with counseling, and maybe you won't need meds. And even if you do get meds, counseling is a good idea if you can get it. A lot of issues can be resolved in counseling that could very well be the root of your depressive symptoms.

I think,Therefore I am. Obviously you are dwelling on sad thoughts,You may not be able to change people, places or things. But the one thing they cannot take away from you is what you chose to dwell on. Do you suppose it would make the troops excited to dwell on all the misery constantly.Or to think about maybe going home in one piece and maybe winning the lottery or something like it.Bad things happen but it is up to us to either let it go or dwell on it and let it's impact destroy us.May GOD Bless you.
