CONGRATULATIONS ahead of time!!

Sleep well tonight...and drink some water thru the night...eat some cereal and something like apple juice in the morning...jog around a bit before the race, and GO!

Don't push it too hard in the beginning...that's when you'll have all sorts of adrenaline making you want to run faster....but don't. I promise that a mile or so into the race...if you hold your pace...you will start passing people left and right. The end will come, you'll feel good, but tired, and hopefully come back for more.

Congrats again...and welcome to a great sport.

Eat a light breakfast ... include a banana if you can, they're great for energy & minerals.

Drink water before ... not so much that you feel bloated, but you don't want to get dehydrated in the middle of the race.

Get well warmed up and stretch a bit before you run.

Remember to pace yourself ... save a bit for the last 200 meters so you can finish strong.

Good luck!

It's a relatively short race, so you don't need to hydrate yourself excessively. One or two glasses of water 15 mins before the race should do it. Eating 2 hours before the race doesn't sound like a good idea, because your lactate will rise very quickly and you may feel nauseated.

The best tip is probably: DON'T START TOO FAST OR YOU'LL BE OUT OF BREATH HALFWAY THROUGH

Get an hour more than you usually sleep and eat a breakfast that's good with protein and carbs, like cereal. Be sure to hydrate even before the race, and just have fun. Good luck tomorrow!

good luck. have a good night sleep. avoid caffeine in the morning and drink water and gatorade before and throughout the race, however, sip it, do not gulp.
