Real in what sense? Is it supernatural? No. No one's magic is supernatural. Magic is the art of manipulating appearances. A magician is the most honest of men: he promises to deceive you and he does.
The means of deception are varied, but most involve a method known as misdirection. The magician makes you look someplace, but the action is going on in another location. Or he/she
makes you think he is performing one procedure, but in fact, something slightly but oh- so-importantly different is going on.
To be honest, from this magicians viewpoint, Blaine may be popular, but actually his magic is really not all that good. He is simply one of the few magicians getting any public attention nowadays.
If you would really like to see a great magician at work, and you have the opportunity, I recommend Jeff McBride.
My favorite magician of all time was a wonderful guy named Senor Mardo. He was elegant, funny, and always made you laugh.

To ask this question is like asking a woman is that your hair color? It is if you see it. If you are asking can I do that? Maybe, maybe not. The mind is very powerful. David Blaine has learned to manipulate the mind. Is that real?

The real question there is - "Do you want to believe it's real?" For me real magic is love...and a new born baby...being alive and breathing...being free from worries and concerns or at least being able to handle them.

He works really hard to create illusions that appear to have no explanation. However, he doesn't have any pizied dust or a genie in the lamp or anything.

I doubt it. He makes it look very real though!
Criss Angel is the one who makes his magic seem more realistic
