Betting a horse to show can be one of the worst financial mistakes you can make at the track. If the horse is running at a high price (odds), then betting the horse to show can be a good thing. However, betting favorites to show is disastrous.

If you just want to have a good time, betting horses to show can be one way to go. However, I don't call betting a favorite to show where you get paid a fraction on your money a good time.

It's common to get around 20% on the dollar for a show bet for favorites.

Remember one thing, the public picks the winner of the race 33% of the time. Therefore, if you just bet the public favorite, you have a good possibility of cashing in.

If you're betting on a horse, and not your sister, play it safe and bet on Show. You won't win as much, but you won't lose as much. It's a fun way to bet without losing alot of money.

if you decide to bet, place the lowest bet possible ( $5, $10, etc) and bet to show. that way you will get some money back whether the horse comes in first, second, or third

You must be Mr. Ed. We were wondering when you would show up.
Have a little more confidence in your sister than that. Bet on her to win. Any horse's a$$ should know that.

Make small bets to win. Horseracing has some of the worst odds in terms of how they are listed in the form thingy.
