i met someone a month and a half ago and feel like i want to call him baby. but is it toooo soon?

This actually really depends of how far your relationship had gotten. If you are just friends with him, then it would be awkward to call him baby. But if you guys actually flirt and are comfortable with each other, then I think it is fine with calling each other nice and cute, and etc. names.
Find out what position you are in with him in the relationship and if you find it to be the latter, it would be nice to call each other names.

Aw hehe, sorry but this is a cute question. NO it's not too soon! I think he'll love it if you call him baby! I kind of had the same thing with my bf... I was kind of shy to call him baby, but I did and it was no biggie. And I love it when he calls me baby, so I think you should do it! :]
