I can't speak for the rest of the world but I can say from my personal experience during visits there, my neighbours were very helpful and friendly and helped us to move furniture in , we got on well together. The other neighbours took us too see a few baseball games. I love Thanksgiving and spent time with friends there, We had the traditional meal and pumpkin pie. We got involved in Halloween and the 4 th of July events. I would say they are a very traditional people. I think that is probably what most people love about the American culture.

I think they see America as ignorant rascists that always have to have things there way, and to get people to like the more they start a war half way around the world to try and bring "democracy" to impoverished nations, if they really want to help out go kill the drug lords and corrupt politicians in Africa, and South America they need your help more then the Middle East, sorry about the rant, but yeah the rest of the world pretty much hates America, and so do some Americans.

America has culture???!!

:)

That's how most of the world sees it. And many Americans, too. Keep in mind that we're such newcomers (relatively speaking -- there are cobblestones in front of the hotel I stay at in London that are older than America!) that we haven't had nearly as much time to develop a culture as many other places. Add to that our "melting pot" mentality of accepting and adopting other cultures' traditions, and "American Culture" is somewhere between non-existant and hard to define :)

Right now we probably aren't looking too good to the rest of humanity. George Bush is making sure of that. I just hope the rest of the world knows, not all Americans are mindless neocons.

honestly, I love America, but people outside of the US do not think americans have as much culture. You do not have real complex traditional cuisine neither do architecture.

Bad, they think that "Yankees" are vulgar and lazy and stupid and the list just goes on but whatever they're just jealous because America is so awesome and they know it but don't want to accept it. And just for the record I'm not American but I recognize your awesomeness.

A lot of them see them as fun. There can be envy too. Who does not want to be an American?

I don't know about the whole world but the people who move here must think we're ok. Not to mension that they should think of us pretty good because we're always helping them out.
