The chemical reaction in the brain induces a response in the pleasure receptors which reinforces the thoughts in a kind of positive feedback - i.e. people believe because it feels good.

Well if you think that every thought that comes in your head is just a chemical reaction then why stop at stop lights, because they're just dillusional figments of your imagination, right? Take for instance the development of housing tracks, saying that a housing track just appeared with out someone taking the time to design it would sound ridiculous right. There are far to many things involved such as the blue print, the mapping out of the area, the house foundations and so forth. In the same manner when you look at the earth and species that live upon it, those things also clearly point to a designer. God Bless You! I'll be praying for you in your search for truth Tom!

Well, "Dr. Tom", how did you arrive at your finding that " . . .god is just a chemical reaction taking place in your brain"? Surely you have the substantiating data in your study and you've been published in several respectable professional journals and can give that answer. If not, then maybe you're just pissing in the wind while you try to put on an act of worldliness and knowledge, when, in fact, you don't know sh-t, and are barking up the wrong tree to boot. Ok...using your same logic, then if Rape, Pedophilia, Cannibalism, Murder, etc.. is just a chemical reaction taking place in your brain, why then do people take it so seriously?

For the same reason that the sense of experiencing love is wonderful experience. Somehow it seems to transend the brain. Its what we feel. If you felt it, your question would seem a little silly.

People want to blame their fault at someone else and they choose Jesus Christ. Did Jesus really die for our sin or is he is scapegoat for all of our wrongdoing? In the past when people did something bad, they ask for god's forgiveness. Now people get use to this custom, it becomes their everyday life asking for forgiveness and love.
