i was shoppin' with my old bro.. the woman who was showin' us clothes was so sweet and she was cute and stuff so when we were leaving he told me wow that girl is amazing , i told him yeah she's so sweet (as in personality) he told me that doesn't matter i told him is that like only ur point of view he told me no all guys r like that these dayz.. BOTTOM LINE IS he made me realize guyz do like girls not for their personalities and stuff .. but for their looks.. and i got so depressed thinkin maybe that's why guyz r nt really attracted to me as more than only "friends".. so is it TRUE?? is it alwayz like that ? plz guys be honest about it it's not like i can be more sad about that...
P.S : i'm 14 , and am not really ugly i just don't consider myself enuf attractive

is it true that some girls only value a guy's looks when asking him for a date, or if he's asking her out?
come on---answer truthfully! gotcha!
of course some guys only see the package and not what's inside. then there are other guys who realize the 'real' person is what's inside you---your heart and your personality. its up to you to fall for one of 'those' guys!
fourteen is a tough age. well, for me it was 13 through 25--those were ALL tough years. you'll do ok! just remember, not all guys think like your brother---some guys think like me!
the personality and the heart are what matters----trust me on this. and someday--some guy will come along and sweep you off your feet because he's seen the REAL you that's inside---and he'll think you're just as cute as a speckled pup!

Probably for younger guys they are all about looks, because they are immature. As they get older they will still likely go for looks as a first impression, but no relationship can be built on looks alone. In my case during High School I wanted the prettiest girl friend I could get, but by college I wanted a pretty girlfriend of course, but I also wanted someone who shared some of the same interests and not a faker either. I married the woman who I found attractive, but who thought the most like me on fundamental issues of family and values and we've been happily married for 11+ years.
A cheerful upbeat person is more likely to be attractive to guys then a downbeat, depressed complainer.

not all guys are the same. People say that without considering the people who are different from them since they think they dont exist. It is true that most guys do first notice's a girls looks. But personality is what normally attracts a person to another. But some guys have a tendency to fall into the stereotype and assume everyone else does. This is basically a person that only think in black and white. They choose to ignore the gray and the colors that lay between them. Dont listen to people who think this way. It will only cloud the truth of the world. For it is more complicated then most people are willing to amit and is simpler then others think. But the truth is for you to decide. Dont let others decide for you.

lol your bro is self absorbed. No not all guys are like that, just the assholes. Personality is what drive us guys to go back and see her again. A body drives desire/lust but a personality is what we fall in love with. A nice body I admit is always a plus, but I dont want a stupid chick with no brain either, too damn boring. well at 14 you should not be worried about these kinds of things but to set the record straight no not all guys think this way maybe he and his friends think like this but i doubt your brother knows very many people to base this on.
Now think about this. how many great looking girls have ugly boyfriends and how many have cute ones. now look at how many ugly guys have a pretty girlfriend and how many have cute ones. ther thing is everyone is different you can not base anything on any one single person if you open your eyes you can see just how wrong he is if you just look at couples you will see very little attraction that matches.

Actually, physical appearance is a lot more important to a guy when it comes to feeling attraction than it is to a woman. That's not the only thing that makes a relationship work, but it is a bigger deal to men than women.

It doesnt matter what you look like, personality still reigns supreme with me. I do know a lot of guys that date them because of their looks, but when it comes down to it, personality still reigns supreme. Nobody wants to be with someone that is rude, snotty, obnoxious, etc, etc, no matter what they look like. If they truly dont care about personality, they are just shallow, and careless, and immature. A mature person looks deeper than just the this outer shell we are in.
