Your dog will drink all the water he needs as long as it is there for him to drink. If his urine looks unhealthy it may be his diet or another problem. I would take him to the vet if you are worried about it.

Dogs love cold water. So try putting ice cubes in the water.( make sure he cant choke on them)Or try giving him treats after he drinks some water. that way he might think it is good for him to drink water. But don't just stop giving him treats because then he might go back to not drinking so much water.

Put some water on your dog's nose with your finger in front of the water bowl. If he's thirsty, he'll drink.

Give him a biscuit or walk something he likes if he drinks a lot of water. Make sure each time he does it to reward him or he will not learn.
