Sounds like you may have deleted a program from your computer by simply deleting the folder it was in rather than uninstalling the program. So it left a line in the registry that is still trying to load the program. Sorry that I can not guess the program to know where you might find the file, but...

Assuming Windows XP, try the following:
Start button
Run
Type in: msconfig
Click on the startup tab
You will see a listing of all the programs be started by Windows whenever you turn on your computer. You can turn on or off the programs by checking or unchecking the boxes.
Play around a little (like turn off 5 boxes at a time and reboot) and see if you can find the line that is loading the program looking for ARHELP.

You can not damage your computer by unchecking things here. If something does not work right when after you reboot, just go back in and recheck the box(es).

If there are any porgrams being listed here that you don't want or really need to have loaded, you can leave them unchecked. It will often speed up your computer to uncheck as many as possible (or all).

Hope that helps.

ARHELP.HLP when searched on WWW result in pearson.edu web site. It appears to be a file used in the remote access to their educational sites. I would assume from this that you are using a program that requires this access and whenever it was installed it is now GONE. YOu must reinstall from the original software to correct the problem. Many times it is best to uninstall and reinstall new ..rebooting inbetween to remove any broken links.

the only ARHELP.HLP file I can find is for windows 95 - what are you running and can you tell what this missing file is messing up - or is it just a error box popping up.

You can try simply reinstalling whatever application you're using when you try to open that help file.
