Can anyone help me understand these abbreviations?:

Perhaps you mean po which is by mouth. r/o means rule out. And spp. is the plural of species. Good luck. Have a great day.

R/O means to rule out Gram staining will be helpful to rule out (differentiate) enterococci/Pseudomonas spp. (species)
qo or do you mean PO? which means per orem (by mouth)
q is also a latin abbreviation for "every" like QD means every day
qHS means every bedtime

I think you might mean PO, which is "by mouth"
