I want to go to New Zealand for a 3 month holiday. while there I would like to apply for a job hopefully as A Private Banker. If my job is not on the 'work needed' list, would it still be posible to get a job offer and eventualy a work permit. Also have anyone heard of any South Africans that has done this.

Why not ask this question in the South African section under TRAVEL. There are lots of South Africans on-line there and they may be able to help you

We've got quite a few South African immigrants here in NZ. Not all are highly skilled. Guys from your country have the advantages that most speak English fluently, your trade and education qualifications are comparable to ours and both countries have similar cultures in many ways.

If you are only going to be there for a 3-month stint, I'm betting that it might be hard to get a job in banking for such a short time frame. I haven't tried myself, but it seems like a lot of hassle for the company to invest in you, without much reward for them.

I would have suggested trying for the "working holiday" scheme, but I'm not seeing South Africa listed under the eligible countries.

Have you checked the rules and requirements for working temporarily in NZ?

You can try to find someone in similar circumstances on www.emigratenz.org/forum, to see if they have any tips.
