Yes. Go to your doctor and tell them you are feeling depressed. They usually will give you a little quiz to see if you need it. If you do get on it, make sure you take it as prescribed. Make sure you follow up with your doctor and see how your progress is going. This is very important. If you start to feel suicidal or more depressed, call you doc immediately and tell them. Some of these carry different side effects. I took Lexapro for about 2 months and it helped me after having my baby ( I had the baby blues). Good Luck and God Bless!

What you should do is go to the doctor and tell him how your feeling, psychologically, you may or may not need an anti-depressant. They will usually prescribe you something mild in the beginning, if it doesn't help then they'll move on to something stronger. Anti-depressants are not a fix-all, you'll need therapy as well.

There are lots of drug addicts on prescription meds, by "asking" for a med of that nature will get you bombarded with questions of drug abuse. Write your symptoms down, discuss them with someone who you trust so that when you go to the doc you will beter understand what actions he will take. Most docs don't just hand out those tyes of meds without a consutation if he is a good doc. I had no one to talk to who understood what I was going through. A medical condition can't just be wished or prayed away, no matter how much we wished it would. There are free intervention programs for you, people to talk to but even some of them aren't very understanding and will think you are "making up" things. Find someone you can trust. There are ways to get help.

When you fell depressed, but why medicate yourself.
You need to ask yourself why you feel depressed and fix the problem on your own.Medication won't fix your problem nor will it make you feel better. Seek support from your family or friends to get you threw whatever it is you are going threw

Well you could do that and he will most likely look at you like you are crazy. Or go and talk to him about how you feel and things like that he might suggest something that better suits you.

If you have to ask, then yes, you probably need one.
Just get used to the idea of no longer being interested in sex (common side-effect).
