Yes they are everyone's common ancestor. You can say the same thing about Noah.

you are quoting from the old testament volume J version. This was the Adam's rib story. The old testament volume I version told it another way. Adam and Eve were created together at the same time. No ribs involved. If it makes you happy, then by all means believe it. I will NEVER try to convince a religious person that the old testament is wrong and that evolution is correct. God created it all so what's the difference how he did it?

You're assuming the Genesis account of creation is factual. For the sake of argument, so will I (just this once). Even with that being the case, the Bible doesn't say Adam and Eve were the ONLY humans created by God.

I'm not sure I'm following you here. As far as I know, all Christians believe in a common ancestor theory (Adam & Eve). But non-believers like me also believe in a common ancestor idea, and that is that we evolved from a different species, and therefore, at some point in the distant past, there was a "first" human from whom we are all descended.

whether your an evolutionist or creationist, you have to admit that humanity started with at least two humans (this does not exclude the possibility of more for evolutionists)
however if it were the case that more humans somehow randomly evolved besides the first two, how can you explain that everyone is at most someone else's 72nd cousin?
the Bible does say Adam and Eve were God's only created humans, or at least the ones we descended from. it says we all are through Adam

I believe Evolution is the means by which God created all living things. The creation story is very poetic and vague. Most of the Bible is ahistorical and ascientific. It wasn't written for the purpose of asolute accuracy and literal meaning. It was written to inspire faith in God ad ultimately to believe that Jesus is The Christ. If you look closely at the order in which God created living creatures on the earth it does match up with the Evolution theory. In Genesis Chapter 1 verses 20-28 you see that the order in which God created all living creatures matches up with the theory of Evolution: 1st the waters teemed with an abundance of living creatures (singled celled organisms which developed into fish, crustations, whales, dinosaurs etc.) 2nd there are birds, which makes sense because birds are very much designed like fish that fly through the air instead of the sea. Next come land creatures as the creatures from the sea developed into amphibions and land creatures: cattle, insects, and wild animals of all kinds ( carniverous beasts like, lions, bears, wolves etc.) Finally we get man, the only animal created in the image and likeness of God.

Why did he take a rib from man? He made man without a rib. Did he get lazy or did he not want to reinvent the wheel.
Common ancestor theory you mean EVOLUTION? We came from monkeys? Your pastor should have you shot....

I agree with you because it comes from the Bible and the Bible is 100% truthful because it came from God's idea. Really no body can tell you, you are wrong, because the imformation that you just put down came from the Bible.

Yes, very right but even closer in relationship is Noah and his wife. All humans are descended from Noah and his wife as well as Adam and Eve.
