You will need to know what your doing to feed this bird, You will need to buy a small package of Kaytee baby bird formula, a teaspoon of mix, add warm water until the mixture is fairly runny.
This formula sets up fast, so make sure the mix is runny, take a small sryinge, you can also find these at pet shops, fill and coax the baby to open there beak, if this is not done just right you will kill the little bird.
With that said...go to my yahoo group and you will find a link on the introduction page to find a wildlife center near you, copy and paste the entire link into your browser and go to the website, enter your zip code and the site will find the closest center near you.

It depends on what type and age the bird is, kaytee exact can be used for birds 0-4 weeks old and you can find it at some pet stores. If the bird is old enough to eat on its own then give it bird seed.
But if you want the best advice on what to do with him or her, take the bird to a vet or wild life center.
Although you may want to keep it in a box with towels and a heating pad set on low to keep the bird warm. But for the first few hours until you can get the right food for it, give it wet bread or cheerios, make sure its warm NOT HOT!
Hope this helps!

if the bird is fully feathered it may have fledged it's nest and the parents were feeding it. Parents will keep the newly fledged babies in a bush or somewhere and find it by calling to it and they will care for it until it is old enough to fly on it's own. If it is mostly bald then probably fell out of the nest early. In any case...now you are stuck with it, I would suggest taking it to a local rehab...they will be able to figure out what kind of bird it is and get it he proper diet. It is also illegal to have a wild bird.

Listen calm down I cant tell you what to feed it unless I know what specie it is
If its a Mockingbird feed it insects (crushed crickets work)
If its a Robin same thing, but with blurberries too
If its a Starling to got starling central google or yahoo it. They need a special hand feeding formula Staling Central has the recipe
If its a Blue jay feed insects
If its a Dove or a pigeon go to a pet store and ask for Kaytee exact hand feeding formula, mix the formula with warm water, check the temp of it with your arm, too hot will kill the baby, to cold will kill it. use a paper cup with a hole in the side on the bottom small enough for the babys beak to fit in. pou a little of the formula in the cup and the baby will lick it up from the hole, do this until the crop is full, the crop is located on the neck it bulges when their full, it should feel like a water baloon when completely full. go online and get info on weaning or you can e-mail me for more info at fatwhale90@yahoo.com

I have to agree with everyone that Petsmart or Petsplus would be the place to go and get the kaytee baby bird feeding kit. Someone said something about using a heating pad. Becarful because you will over heat the little guy and kill him. I have been around a breeder or two and some get a sack laying on its side adn put fuffly towels in it or a small box laying on it's side with fuffly towls or scrap cloth. Haveing a roof over their head will help hold in the heat and he will be just fine. don't give him water. Give him wet bread or wet mushed up cat or dog food. But still best to go to the pet store and get some Kaytee products.
I wish you luck.

Ok I have done this before, go to pets mart and get baby parrot food and a small syringe. Get Kaytee exact hand feeding formula or and other kind they have. For wild birds worm water so you can put your finger in it and its not to hot. Mix it like it said and feed it like the can says to. What dose the baby look like feathers? If it has pin feathers or eyes closed it needs to be feed right away but if it has all its feather and eyes open you can try warming up some water and putting bran flacks or some kind of ceral like that in it so it is mushy and feeding it with your finger.

Put into a small flower pot and suspend it high in the area found. I did this and the mother came back and finished taking care of the chicks. If not, the bird will die. It's not your fault and you are no substitute for its natural mother. We don't have the resources and instinct it takes to succeed. The scent of humans did not affect the mother's care of the chicks. That's an old myth. Good luck.

It's best to give it over to someone who knows what they're doing. Call a vet - they'll give you information on wildlife rehabilitators. Kaytee Exact is ok - but it's meant for members of the parrot family - not wild birds. Feeding a bird is very dangerous to the bird if you don't know what you're doing. Crop burn, aspiration, sour crop, crop stasis, etc. I'd let a professional do it.

what you should do is call a local wild life rehabilitation center and ask if they will take it to care for. I once found a hurt bird and called this woman that works in an animal rehab center. she told us to give the bird dry cat food in water, so that it would be soft for the bird to chew. this was only supposed to be a temporary fix though. but you really should call a wild life rehab center as soon as you can.

Go to petsmart, they have a baby bird formula you can give the baby feeding with an eyedropper but fed slowly as not to burn the mouth. but I really suggest having it checked over by a vet or a rescuer or animal hospital, most will take them immediately and care for them.
