Train your dog to behave in a human pack. No one likes a "bad" dog. The dog's behaviour reflects your control. Buy a book on this. Most dogs can be trained at any age. You get the dog you deserve. Put the time in. It's worth it.

You don't indicate what the dog is doing, so I can only assume that your mother is frustrated and angry about bad behavior. If you are a minor and/or live in your mothers house, you have to try to at least find a compromise.
Research discipline and train him so he behaves better.
Talk to the veterinarian about the dog's behavior and what you can do to change it.

Train your dog, dogs are real fast learners. Ask your mom if she'll let you keep it for a month, then show her the results. If you really want to keep it, you'll figure out a way.

You should take full responsibility for the dog so your mom won't be burdened by it. That's your best bet on keeping it.
