My thoughts are that the majority of the commonly used versions today are gross mistranslations of the original books, and have been manipulated by early male religious leaders in order to promote their patriarchal agendas to control the masses through fear.

There is no inerrant copy of God's Written Word existing today. What is available are copies of copies of fragments of texts from the second and third century at best. prtaining to The Christian Bibles New Testiment.
The Original texts in the original laguages were written by scribes directed by God. Those were inerrant. But those are all lost now and have been for 1500+years at least.
What is in the better Christian Bibles comes from what are called the Majority texts. And even these are only a colection of fragments of probably, at best, second copies of the original texts. Many Fragments were lost in the two world wars of the 20th century.
Far too many of the "modern" english translations use what are refered to as the minority texts which are far fewer in number and just as incompleat as the majority texts... But because they are said to be older and only for that reason, they are said by some to be better.
going into all that kind of study will blow your mind..
Is The Word of God still to be found in todays english language Bibles? Yes, in most of them. But in any Bible study today one must be led by The Holy Spirit to Find God's Truth. There is a lot of man's ego caused mess in there as well.
I use The King James Bible (1611) and even this work which I fully believe was done with the best due diligence todate to use the best english words to fit the Greek from which it came... but even the KJV in not inerrant.
There is one so-called bible out there that should be avoided like the plague. It is called "the message" IMO it is an abomination.
It is not a translation it is a paraphrase and it is not even that acurate in that. Do not even go there....I would use the word
Abomination for this garbage.
I am of the Christian Faith and I know with absolue certainty that my Salvation is assured. I have God's Word on it.
Here is a link to a bit more on my position regarding The Bible from my website Bible page:

I believe that the bible is true, regardless of other people who say its full of lies. The bible was written with people who were filled with the holy spirit .All of the things in the bible is true.IT ONLY TAKES ONE TO BELIEVE IF YOU READ IT ,but i know why most people do not believe in the bible. They think that the bible is a mystery coz they have never saw anyone from the bible ,''they believe that seeing is believing ''
But the bible says ''Blessed are those who have believed ,and not seen him''
I beleive all parts of the bible from Genesis to Revelations is true.
If someone says its not true ,then howcome other things happening to this world are in the bible
like war ,enemity between countries.

I think the idea of manuscripts of a divine entity are entirely possible. However, given the state of the world and how the bible has changed to suit the times of politics, and the fact that a lot of parts of the bible were written by lay people, I don't really find it very convincing that the current version is The word of God.

I think it's probably the most evil book ever written. It teaches hate, intolerance, and racism. The stories about God mandated murder of men women and children are only slightly less revolting than the stories about "righteous" men raping innocent women and children.
There is nothing original in the god-myths of either Jehovah or Jesus, except for the disgusting nature of the beliefs they have spawned which have just led to more slaughter and terror in the creation of the Bible.
On a purely personal note, I find the belief that someone had to die for my sins (which apparently I still have anyway) not only pointless, but vile and despicable in it's very nature.

It is a book of mythology invented by the Nicene Council in 325 CE (ad).
The Nicene Council established the rules by which books of mythology would be included in the bible. It was over fifty years later that the Catholic church finally forged all the documents necessary to support those rules, but the Nicene Council did "invent the bible" by establishing the rules for which myths could be included.

The Nicene Council DID put it together from many other works. Despite this much of it is true. It is incomplete without the Book of Mormon, Pearl of Great Price, Doctrine and Covenants, The Apocrypha, The Gnostic Gospels and many others.

It's just a cryptic history book, hon. Not a very accurate one at that. MANY inconsistancies and contradictions.
This is one of many examples why it CANNOT be 100% true: God created free will, right? But according to Rom 1:24-28, If people are evil it is because god has chosen to make them evil!(http://www.blueletterbible.org/kjv/Rom/Rom001.html#24)So where's the free will in that!?

The Holy Bible....should be renamed to The Big Book of Christian Mythology. It is no different than the ancient greek and roman mythology tales.

The bible is a falicy. Just read the book "Misquoting Jesus". It proves that the bible was rewritten over and over again. Scribes ommited, changed, altered and MADE UP stories in the bible to fit the church's will.
The bible is a fairy tale.
