Some people would probably say so because of the whole Your body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit thing. I think that the Bible doesn't say anything about it one way or the other. The Bible does say that if you know what the right thing to do is and you don't do it, that you have sinned. So if you think getting a tattoo is the right thing to do, then go ahead and do it. If you think it is not the right thing to do, then don't.

Yes, but in my opinion this was old fashion not that I support tattoo, as be honest I myself, got tattoo on my left upper arm
and on my legs....but when it comes to being a real christian,
God focus only on the innermost of the being,
so as long as you're a good person in the inside, that's the most important thing that that the church requires from you, doesn't really matter if you have it or not....Life change People change...
Hope that answers you're question..

Cheers!!

Yes, Tattoo are wrong, IN Christianity.
Based in the O.T, about cutting up your body and tattoo your body for the dead.
Based on Human Vanity and Desire for Self Identity, There nothing wrong with it.
I am a christian. I struggle hard about this question. Done my research and checking.
I got a tattoo of a eagle. Is my body.
Call it self love or self desire in pain. I love my tattoo.
You get a tattoo, remember, IN N.T, there a verse 1 Cor 12. All thing is permissionable. and Is between you and God.

To begin with the question "in the eyes of the CHRISTIAN CHURCH" is a dumb question. Because it consists of people and isn't God himself nor his word- which is the absolute truth (do your research on that, believe what you feel like =P) you can't ask a specific question like this.

However, an appropriate question would be "would God approve of a tatooe"?

Assuming you follow biblical scripture, it wouldn't. Anything not pure is not perfect. Perfection is purity. Sure, you can express yourself. Does it make you evil? No. Is it unredeemable? No.

God is self-sufficient. Does he need a tatooe? What IS God? I don't think so...

To think Godly is to think purely. =)

Yes. It is clearly stated in Lev 19:28. It is also not approved of men to wear ear rings. In biblical times only slaves wear them. Yes, many also do the most stupid things to bind ourselves in rebellion so as to be free to sin???

I think that really depends on the denomination, as things like that tend to vary from one to the other. I personally think it's a matter of personal conviction.

By the way, I can think of two places in the Bible that refer to nose-piercings...

yeah, you are gonna get alot of answers with the saying of "the body is a temple", so it's "wrong" to get tattoos, but that is SUCH a stupid thing to say because, really, why wouldn't we want to DECORATE our cool temples? Mormon temples and Jewish temples all have symbols on them, why shouldn't we have symbols on our "body temples"?
